Rava Kesari

Rava kesari is a blend of Rava,  besan and Wheat flour with sugar and kesar strings to take you to a lovely dessert drive, it is very delicious and rich in taste as compared to other normal Halwa / sheera that took place in North Indian homes on any auspicious occasion / festival as a sweet. This is very easy and one of those simple but necessary satisfying deserts that hits the sweet spot every time. Now let's make it and leave your impression for forever on your family members / guests etc.


Prepration Time : 5 min

cooking Time : 15 min

Serving for : 2 members

Ingredients :- ( measuring cup used , 1 cup = 250 ml )

      • 1 cup Rava ( sooji)
      • 1/2 cup sugar or as required
      • 3/4 cup Besan
      • 3/4 cup Wheat flour
      • One and half cup ghee
      • 4-5 green cardamoms or 1/2 teaspoon cardamon powder ( choti elaichi powder )
      • 10-12 walnut
      • 2 tablespoons raisins (kishmish)
      • 4 cup of water or as required
      • 5-7 strings kesar ( saffron )
      • 5-6 almonds vertical ( long ) cut
      • 5-6 pistachios cutting
      • 5-6 cashewnuts cutting
How to prepare :-
    • Add ghee in a pan and put it on a low flame .
    • Now add sooji in the ghee and stir it so that it does not stick to the pan . You can also add some more ghee if required.
    • On the other side , take a pan and pour the water in it boil it while boiling add kesar to it for a good taste and colour.
    • When sooji start turning into golden brown in colour , add Wheat flour, Besan in it and mix it well.
    • After some time when you saw your mixture is turning into golden brown  colour and slowly ghee coming out of the mixture then add hot water to the mixture slowly . Take care to see that no lumps are formed if your mixture required you can add more hot water.
    • Keep stirring mixture  add sugar to it. After 2-3 minutes you can see ghee around your mixture. 
    • Now add Cardamon powder , wallnut and raisins and put the flame off and cover it for 4-5 minutes . Now your Rava kesari is ready for serving.
    •  Serve, your hot Rava kesari . For serving put rava Kesari in a plate and decorate it with Almonds,cardamoms . .
