Chilli Potato

If  you are food lover and searching for some spicy dish. Try this Indo Chinese CHILI POTATO and surely you will love this. Chili potato recipe is one of the well liked chili recipes from the INDO CHINESE CUSINE. It is served as a starter . This dish does not call for any fancy ingredients except from some sauces like tomato sauce, soya sauce, chili sauce which are very much used in Chinese cusine and it's very flavorful and looks appealing in the serving plate.

INGREDIENTS:.                                       Preparation Time :10 mins

  • 5 Potatoes                                              Cooking Time : 30-35 mins
  • 3/4 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 4 Tbsp All purpose flour.                     Serving : 2 members
  • 1-2 Tbsp Oil
  • Water as required
  • Salt as taste
FOR SAUCE :
  • 1 Cup Chopped Capsicum
  • 1 Cup Chopped Spring Onions
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar
  • 2-5 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Red Chilli Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Green Chilli Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 Tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 4-5 Tbsp Honey
  • Salt as per taste
METHOD :

  • Cut potatoes in any desire shape as you wish.
  • Boil 2 glass of water.
  • Paraboil the potatoes (paraboil means not fully soft or fully boiled instead it till the half cooked).
  • Take a bowl to it add 3 tbsp of all purpose flour (maida) and 2 tbsp corn starch and add 1 big spoon of oil to it mix well and now add these paraboil potatoes and mix well.
  • Now take another bowl to it add 1 bowl of all purpose flour, 1/2 bowl corn starch, 1 big spoon of oil mix well and now add water to it until a smooth creamy batter is obtained.
  • Now again add the already coated potatoes in this batter and mix well so that potatoes are evenly coated.
  • Heat oil on medium flame and now add potatoes to it fry it on medium flame. Note : Do not fry it to golden brown colour as we are going fry it again.
  • Now turn the knob on high flame and again fry the potatoes which we have already lightly fried, fry it till it's golden brown and crispy.
FOR SAUCE :

  • Heat up a frying pan, add oil to it.
  • Now add garlic and ginger paste to it.
  • Add Capsicum and spring onions to it once it is cooked add salt and red chilli powder and now add half glass of water to it now add Vinegar, Soya sauce,Ketchup,Chilli Sauce (Red and green sauce) . Let it cook on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now in a bowl add 1 cup of water add 1 tablespoon of Cornstarch mix well and add this to the mix.
  • Mix well until a nice sauce is formed now add the potatoes and mix well, turn of the flame and to this add honey and again mix well.
       And your Restaurant style CHILLI POTATO is ready
