Rajasthani dal Dhokli is an authentic Indian delicacy from the land of Rajasthan. Highly nutritious and mouthwatering dal Dhokli is a soup of high fibre prepared with Moong and chana dal.
   The tempering is prepared in ghee along with some Indian spices which enhances the aroma and taste. Rajasthani dal Dhokli is complete meal it's self which keeps one fuller for long duration. Whenever you are in hurry try this one pot meal recipe with simple ingredients and enjoy. Follow this step-by-step  to make perfect Rajasthani Dal Dhokli.

Ingredients For Dal :

  • 2 Cups of green moong dal
  • 1 Cup of chana dal
  • 1 Tbsp ghee
  • 1 Tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 Cup Onions (slices)
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 1/2 Cup tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/4  Tbsp mustard seeds (Rai)
  • 1/2 Tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon garam masala
  • 2-4 Cloves
  • 5-7 Black peppers
  • 2-4 Dry red chilies
  • 2 Teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 6-8 Curry leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon haldi powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon hing
  • Water 5-6 Cups (or as required)
  • 1 Teaspoon dry meethi leaves

Ingredients For Dhokli :

  • 1 Cup of wheat flour
  • 1/2 Cup of sooji
  • 1/4 Cup of gram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon (Carom seeds) ajwain
  • 1 Cup of ghee
  • Pinch of baking soda
  • Water (warm as required)
  • Salt as taste

Recipe of Dhokli :

  • Take flour, garam flour and sooji mix them well add pinch of baking soda ,add salt and Carmon seeds.
  • Add warm water little by little as required. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes to set. So that duff will get set.

  •  Dough for making Dhokli is ready. Make a lump from the dough and roll it press from hands and make a hole while using your fingers. You can see in pictures and keep it aside.

Recipe of Making Dal :

  • Clean and wash moong and chana dal mix them. Soak in water for 1/2 to 1 hour.
  • Take ghee in pressure cooker. Add cumin, mustard seeds and asafoetida (hing) after some time when cumin seeds starts crackling add cloves, black pepper, dry red chillies and 6-8 curry leaves.
  • After few seconds add chopped onions and garlic paste now add haldi powder and salt so that your onions easily turn into golden colour now add chopped green chillies. Saute the spices for few seconds. After this add chopped tomatoes. Ones tomatoes are cooked, add red chili powder and Coriander powder and mix it well.  Saute the masala until ghee starts separating from it. Now add 1/4 teaspoon garam masala.
  • Your masala is ready. Now add dal with 5-6 cups of water. When your water start boiling mix all the dhoklis with dal and mix it well. And pressure Cook it for 4-5 whistles.
Rajasthani Dal Dhokli is ready garnish with some dry meethi leaves and ghee. Serve steaming hot Rajasthani Dal Dhokli and relish eating.
